They say urban areas can be depressive. Often you can hear that about Bucharest. Especially in winter … As much as winter is white and puffy in Sinaia, it can only make people living in Bucharest dream about spring, because in the capital city of Romania winter is anything but awesome … Spring is the one that makes Bucharest beautiful and truly the entire city changes once it is there …

Check out Cismigiu park!

This is one of my favourite buildings in Bucharest which hosts the Association of Romanian Architects!

Then check out the Stavropoleos Monastery in the old town. It is a tiny church, but definitely unique.

This place is called Hanul lui Manuc and it is a really beautiful place with a real traditional vibe! If you wanna know what it was all about in feudal Romania, have a look there. It is close to Unirii Square.

This is said to be the origins of Bucharest, a tiny church called the church of Bucur which is close to Radu-Voda Monastery.

This is the Patriarchy close to Unirii Square.

Check out Antim Monastery, which is rather hidden between the blocks close to the House of the Parliament.

Have a look at Herastrau park, the biggest in the city. You would definitely need a couple of hours to have a walk around the lakes.

Magnolia trees can be spotted all around the city! Ask somebody about the meaning of ‘mastishor’  – you could spot those being attached to tree branches all over in spring… Romance in the air!
