The islands of the Maldives lie at the surface of the ocean, at almost zero degree above the sea level. It is the lowest country in the world! Even if it is hard to find it on the map without zooming in, there are over 1000 islands forming an entire archipelago in the middle of the Indian Ocean. Welcome to the turquoise dream of paradise!

There are many uninhabited islands here, but only locals would know which ones and how to get there. There is also a hop in hop off ferry service between the islands, but it is hardly possible to find an adequate timetable. All is done locally. The names of the islands are rather confusing, this one for example is called Thulusdhoo and the nearby one is the Chichenks Island, being famous as a surfing spot.

I’ve caught only one fish in my life and it happened in Maldives! There was supposed to be two of them, but the second one escaped. The island swarmed with crabs and shells too – one can survive!

Is it great to escape from everything for a couple of days. Especially to such a beautiful place!

However, I have noticed that people living in paradises hardly ever realize how beautiful their homeland is. Everybody wishes to be somewhere else!

Somehow traveling opens your eyes to the beauty of your homeland. So this is what I’d say to all the people living in paradises: travel a lil bit!
